Class 4A, No. 1-ranked Montgomery Catholic stayed undefeated with Friday’s 44-27 victory over Jacksonville.
The Knights have scored at least 42 points in every game this season and extended its streak to four straight season with at least 12 wins.
Auburn commit Jeremiah Cobb ran 18 times 302 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Knights (12-0). Luke Harkless added four catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns and added five carries for 69 yards and a touchdown. Caleb McCreary completed 8-of-13 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns, including a 21-yard TD pass to Justin Rose.
Jaden Jones led the Knights’ defense with 11 tackles, while Zach Underwood and Damien Rankins had eight tackles apiece.
Jacksonville’s 27 points is the most scored on Montgomery Catholic this season, as the Golden Eagles finish the season with an 8-4 record.
The Knights advance to play Handley in next week’s 4A quarterfinals.
