Here’s Why Bombae Couldn’t Play Justin Trudeau For Snatch Game on Canada’s Drag Race
Canada’s Drag Race is making herstory, henny!
As shown during the latest trailer for the series, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is making an in-person visit to the werkroom of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World, becoming the first-ever world leader to appear in the history of the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise.
Alas, this announcement sparked a curious tweet from Canada’s Drag Race season three contestant Bombae, who wrote: “So this is why they wouldn’t let me do Justin for Snatch Game.” For context, Bombae impersonated comedian Aziz Ansari during the Snatch Game and had a bottom three placement in the episode. Though Bombae was spared from lip syncing, she came very close to the bottom two.
While Bombae is known for her sense of humor and this tweet could be more of a joke, it’s possible that production didn’t want to risk disrespecting the Canadian world leader who was scheduled to appear on Canada vs. the World – which was filmed very close to season three of Canada’s Drag Race. As a result, it’s possible that Bombae was actually told not to impersonate Trudeau in the Snatch Game of season three.
The overall RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise has featured a few politicians as guests in the past. Most notably, Nancy Pelosi has made two appearances on the show, and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was a guest judge on season 12 of Drag Race.
However, Trudeau is the first world leader to appear as a guest in the history of the series. In comparison, this would be the equivalent of President Joe Biden coming into the werkroom of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
We can’t wait to see how this turns out.
Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World premieres November 18 on WOW Presents Plus.
