Alabama Power company customer will see an increase in their bills starting in December.
The company announced that the typical residential customer would pay about $10 more per month to cover the increased cost of fuel used to generate electricity.
Alabama Power says it does not make money from fuel expenses. The utility’s rates are regulated by the Alabama Public Service Commission.
Alabama Power operates 25 electric generating plants and produces power with natural gas, coal, hydroelectric, oil, nuclear power, and solar, according to the company.
