Posted on October 19, 2022 By Theatre Out No Comments on ASWA Prep Rankings: Familiar name returns to the top, more shakeups looming

There’s a new No. 1 in the Week 10 Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings.

But not an unfamiliar one.

Three-time reigning champ Thompson moves back to the top spot in Class 7A this week following Auburn’s loss at Central-Phenix City. The Warriors have won seven straight games since opening 0-2.

Mark Freeman’s team will be tested again this week when they host rival and No. 2-ranked Hoover in a battle for the Region 3 title.

Class 6A No. 1 Saraland travels to No. 3 Theodore, Class 5A No. 1 UMS-Wright hosts No. 7 Faith Academy and Class 4A No. 1 Montgomery Catholic travels to No. 3 Andalusia.
