Disney Plus is bringing back X-Men: The Animated Series to our televisions after a 25-year hiatus. The TV show is a direct continuation of the cherished five-season programme that was a favourite among comic book and superhero enthusiasts who were young in the 1990s.
Yes, this entails well-known X-Men figures like Wolverine, Jean Grey, Magneto, Cyclops, Jubilee, Beast, and others waging the good fight in their vintage ’90s garb. This frequently results in conflict, with Magneto trying to rule the world with mutant capabilities while Professor X’s brilliant offspring seek to improve coexistence with those without any special abilities.
The animated programme promises to be both a journey down memory lane and a sci-fi series revival for a contemporary audience. What will the MCU experience with the release of X-Men 1997? Is the entire original cast still present? And, really, how will it carry on the mutants’ story?

X-Men ’97 Plot
The plot of X-Men 1997 is unknown. However, we do know that it is a direct sequel to the 1992 series. This implies that we’ll find out what transpired after Magneto and the mutants bid Professor Xavier farewell.
The obedient leader left everyone he knew and loved to wonder whether he would ever return by travelling to the planet Shi’Ar with Lilandra. Yes, the Poochie joke from The Simpsons finished the cartoon. Such an odd anticlimax has the advantage of leaving lots of open ends for the authors to explore later.
Naturally, the health of Professor X is of utmost importance, particularly in light of the power vacuum he’s left behind. Recent announcements made at San Diego Comic-Con indicate that Magneto will take Professor X’s place as leader of the X-Men and fill the hole left by him.
Sunspot, Cable, Bishop, and Nightcrawler will also be joining the squad, which is fortunate given that they will be dealing with Mister Sinister and his mutant experimentation, the persistent danger posed by the Sentinels, and the Hellfire club.
Expect all of these, along with whatever other themes and concepts the authors can work into X-Men ’97. Maybe there will be more Phalanx or an Avengers vs. X-Men narrative. Currently, there are several alternatives available.

Is X-Men ’97 Part of The MCU?
According to current information, X-Men ’97 does not occur during the primary continuity of the MCU. But it’s debatable what this finally signifies. Professor X and the mutants are shown to exist in some reality, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shows that their appearance is similar to that of the ’90s programme.
X-Men ’97 is very probably included in the MCU if you consider the universe, but not in any way that has anything to do with the primary plot. A crossover will there ever occur? In What If…?, Captain Carter was first introduced, and then in Multiverse of Madness, he really appeared. The precedent is there, but it’s a little trickier to apply it to something like the X-Men.

If the universe is included, then X-Men ’97 is unquestionably a part of the MCU, but not in any way that has any bearing on the primary plot. Is there ever going to be a crossover? Well, before appearing in Multiverse of Madness, Captain Carter was first presented in What If…? Although the precedent is there, transferring it to a project like the X-Men is a little trickier.
